Turand. The passage of years has brought much change to Turand. Turandans have resurrected their faith in Val and, in doing so, have revitalized their nation. Prosperity abounds. Artistic endeavors flourish anew. In peace, the glories of the past have returned as blessings to the people.

As King Gregor assesses the successful accomplishment of long-ago dreams for his nation, sorrow fills him. His people, his friends, his children and even his one-time enemy, Lord Victor Garogan, share his grief. For months, all have struggled to unravel the mystery of Alexa’s disappearance. No trace lingers as clue to her fate. Turandans are left only to cling to their adored Valkana’s memory and the faith she extolled.

Lord Victor Garogan relentlessly pursues resolution of questions connected to Alexa’s strange absence. Years have failed to dim his love for her. Despite her intense love for Gregor, time itself has not severed the connection binding him to her. Assaulted by dreams, Victor refuses to accept that she has simply vanished.

All the while, Gregor continues his life’s journey through days yet to be lived while haunting memories repeatedly transport him into the past. As king, he must not relinquish the responsibility of leading his nation. As a father, he must remain strong for his children. However, as a man, he cannot escape the richness of times past when Alexa’s presence graced his life. How bleak he sees his future without her love. Contemplating overwhelming loss, Gregor aches in both body and spirit.

And…beyond the obvious desire to know what fate befell his beloved Alexa, Gregor voices the question asked by all of Turand.
