Poem 2

Fingers of darkness resist to release,
Their vile grasp they seek to maintain
Throughout the night, so grim and so fearsome.
Yet the shaft of My light pierces the pain.

My light did I send to you, My children.
Give into its glory; bask in its warmth.
That merciful light, sign of my covenant,
Embodied in love, dispelling the dark.

My servant she comes,
Her heart filled with joy,
My children to serve, her faith to profess
My wisdom to share,
Your leaders to guide,
My hymn long silenced, sung by my priestess.

Lift high your voices, raise up your song
Sing with her, sing with My servant child,
As the darkness retreats,
Its sorrow dispersed,
My light she does bear,
My promise revealed,
With lives so precious lost to war
And through your sacrifice dear,
The tyrants are banished,
The just have prevailed.

Now her song sounds true, bearing love in the light
Lift high your voices, raise up your song,
Sing with her, sing with My servant child,
The covenant shines in the midst of that light,
Take in its glory, gather heat from its glow,
For My children, My love have I sent to you.
